I find that the other patchs/diffs are quite complex to apply, they create files, change others, so I didn't applied that. I made some changes proposed (like invoking cms.php) and that also made the error go away, but the scheduled jobs still not running.

Joomla devs are discussing the best way to solve that and I think I'm going to wait a little for a more "final" work.

If anyone is lucky on that, please report.

I have had a couple of clients now who needed this fixed, so I had to go forward with it.  The original importv2.zip file indeed does not work to fix the issue, it just hides the errors and the jobs still don't run.  However, the suggested patch at

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=31663

does work when applied.  It causes some PHP Notices for the Civi end, but the jobs still seem to run properly.

I'm hoping that the fix will be included in Joomla 3.2, and if it is and the Notices still exist then I will dive further in and see what needs to happen to resolve those.  For right now though the patch seems to at least fix major issue.

hey danc,
Can you please confirm the URL? This one you posted is leading to the Issue with the importv2.zip, and there's no other patch there.
Thanks!!!

Later I found a solution that worked for me, I'm reporting if anyone need it too.

I followed http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=31662 and applied the patch https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/1657.diff .

That worked great. Now the cronjobs run nicely.

To make it clear, it is a problem in the Joomla! libraries, not in CiviCRM.

diegov, can you help me with this? I don't even know where to begin to do this patch.  I really need to get my Civi working but I don't know how to fix it.  I am running CiviCRM 4.3.7 and Joomla 3.1.5.
