I would like it bundled with the WordPress download of Civi as that will make it available to everyone.  Most will not do an install via composer and now that wp-cli is no longer using composer I think that this just seems the better way to go.

I've been talking a bit with Kevin at the MD sprint, and bundling it in seems good for now. Even if we don't solve the chicken-and-egg, it's still quite valuable; for someone who's use-case makes it worthwhile to manually install the wp-cli plugin, they could still do that the same way. It should be no better or worse than the Drupal/drush situation.

Anyway, we've copied it into 4.5 ( https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-wordpress/pull/55 ) and patched to allow double-installation ( https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-wordpress/pull/57 ).

Hi Totten / Kevin,

Ok, sounds great - and please accept my apologies for not getting round to doing that, it is literally sitting on a list right next to me with exclamation marks next to it.

Thanks very much for doing that though, hope it is useful to a few people.

Yup. For starters, we can use it to update the demo sites to install extensions (CiviVolunteer) as part of the nightly rebuild. :)

Also, an update the "API Explorer" will try to bring some more attention to it: https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-core/pull/4126
