CiviVolunteer-Settings for Web Page Interface? Report? Buttons?
April 15, 2014, 08:20:34 am
We are implementing the new CiviVolunteer module for an upcoming Event. We would like to edit the public page that gets created (like we do for a donation page), adding some descriptions for some of the field elements (Roles, Shifts) and remove the Additional Information box. And we would like to customize the thank you page. We can not find where we can do this...

Why do two Volunteer Now buttons show up on the public web page?

Also, how/where do the signed-up Volunteers show up in a report before the event takes place? We are looking in the Event report.

WordPress 3.8.3, CiviCRM 4.4.3 (upgrading today to 4.4.4)

Looking forward to the CiviVolunteer talk at CiviCon next week!

Thank you!

CiviVolunteer uses a reserved profile to build the form on the public sign-up pages. You can edit it by going to Administer > Customize Data and Screens > Profiles, then clicking the Reserved Profiles tab. "Volunteer Sign Up" is the one you want.

Currently there is no thank you page. The user is returned to the event info screen with a "You are scheduled to volunteer. Thank you!" message. If you'd like to change that behavior, custom development will be required.

Why do two Volunteer Now buttons show up on the public web page?

Same reason two "Register Now" buttons show up sometimes. If memory serves, it depends on whether or not the event has a value in the "Complete Description" field. You can easily hide one of the sets of buttons with CSS if you want to use the Complete Description field but show only one set of buttons.

Volunteers are not currently registered as event participants, though this may change in the next release of CiviVolunteer. Instead, their participation is represented as an activity. Under Contact Reports you should see Volunteer Report that was added by CiviVolunteer.
