I don't think revisiting dedupe is core to the social network connectors, but I do think the changing data will help drive that project as a result.

My take on matching is that these aren't new challenges - but we should be mindful of them because importing from social networks will trigger a large number of new contacts for some others.

The existing situation is:

* some contacts have no email
* some contacts share an email address
* some contacts may even share name, street addresses and email!

With social imports this will still be true; organisations will have to adjust their matching approach to handle an influx of new contacts with some reduced data (or obfuscated data, since people often use a screen and legal name and we should respect both).

Perhaps we should aim to make it possible for sites to configure the information they want, import as much or as little as is desired, and let the site sort it out.
