Looks like webserver cannot write to "/home/kjbaud/public_html/ihweb/components/", so may be give appropriate permission and try again.

If you feel adventurous, you might want to try our new experimental joomla install package

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/civicrm/civicrm-2.2.experimental-joomla.zip?use_mirror=

note that this is 2.2 and a test version. we hope to use it for the next release of 2.2 and hopefully will fix a lot of install issues Smiley

Please use the install from url or install from directory option

This worked GREAT.

The first time I tried to install it I did not delete the civicrm tables in my joomla database from previous attempts.  It installed but then had “can’t access table errors”.

I then uninstalled civicrm and used PhpMyAdmin to delete all of the civicrm tables.

I used Joomla’s installation option “upload and install”.

FTP Layer was on

I had previously added an .htacess file in my Joomla directory which includes the following statements:
Php_values memory_limit 256M
Php_value register _globals off
Php_value max_execution _time 600

I checked these settings using the Joomla “system info” tool found under help and was able to verify that these settings did indeed override the service provider’s settings.

THNAKS!  I am not a programmer or professional but would consider myself an enthusiast.  I have worked with Joomla and extensions form about three years.  I originally installed a wamp servier on my laptop with joomla and civicrm.  It was very simple, took thirty minutes and then about two hours to set up trial artwork, pledges, accounts etc.  I then demonstrated it for the not for profit org where  I volunteer.  They loved it.   I have installed and uninstalled this system perhaps a 100 times.  I have tired help suggestions in a number of the forum posts and I actually have read most of the installation instructions (something I almost never do).  I opened two additional hosting accounts, one of which I already closed.  I now have at least 40 hours in trying to get this system to work and two web accounts (one of which I will close).  This is clrarly a GREAT PRODUCT! I stuck with it because there really is nothing else aout there as full features as this system!

I hope this information is helpful!

You should not have to delete your tables though... did the previous attempts fail? I've actually been using this packaging for a while and I've never seen that problem.

Lobo, I think ultimately you need to consider changing the Joomla uninstall so it actually deletes the tables since with using  update in the xml you don't need to uninstall the component before upgrading anymore.

This worked GREAT.

note that this was an experimental release. So you will need to reinstall the package next week, when we incorporate this in the main code stream. This will be part of the 2.2 beta1 release
