OK - I may have posted this in the wrong thread.

one other line from the error:

It was not possible to copy the selected file.

After further reading, do I need to un-install my current civi 2.2.7 before I upgrade to 2.2.8?

Some other threads have hinted at that, but I do not see that in the documentation - unless I'm blind.

I am running the install from:
/var/www/html/joomlaroot/tmp/com_civicrm/

As per the upgrade instructions.

And - I certainly hope this doesn't turn into another dead thread.

The error doesn't give any idea. Can you paste the complete error message with the backtrace (switch on the backtrace before starting with upgrade).

Yes, Check 3rd point in "Run the Installer" section - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Joomla+Sites+to+2.2

OK -

I interpreted that to mean if I was running a BETA version of any 2.2.x Install.

Is it possible to run the upgrade at ALL from 2.2.7 to 2.2.8 with out un-installing?

I could see this requirement like going from 2.2.x to 3.0, but for an incremental upgrade?

If the requirement is and there is no way around un-installing, then posting the error message is moot.
But in the event I can move forward without uninstalling, and I get the same error, I post the error message with the Backtrace on.

Thanks!

Dallas

After viewing this post from RogerCO:
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,9236.0.html

I will move forward with un-installing and re-in stalling and to make sure I comment out the Drop All tables from the PHP file.

I will report back on this thread if I have any further issues, otherwise, done.
