Set expanded or collapsed properties for core fields/sections
October 03, 2012, 06:58:40 am
Many I am completely overlooking things but how do we set the address section within org or ind. edit for backend users to be expanded by default instead of collapsed, I would assume the solution is the same for the other sections as well so this could be applicable to other sections.

As always a big thanks to all that participate in the answer.

Hello AJ,

Go to Administer-->Customize Data and Screens-->Custom Fields. Next to the set you want to expand, click more and select Settings.

Under display style you'll see the check box for collapsing a set on initial display, uncheck it and save. The field will be now be expanded when you open a screen that displays it.

Cheers,
Jason

Hey Thanks for the reply, but I was asking about built-in fields not the custom ones.

That is not UI configurable right now, so u'll need to do this via jQuery / extra tpl file etc

however its a nice small project to make that a setting, so definitely worth it :)

this has come up with us when clients ask about collapsing the Comms Prefs field group - we just haven't gotten around to it (and at this rate we will be putting Xmas off till Easter anyhow) - also i thought in Bristol there were other discussions about easier management of the Summary screen though presumably those are all a way off
