No message and no installation

Hello,

I was just trying to install CiviCRM 2.2.9 on Joomla 1.5.14 on WAMP.

I don't get an error message, but the component is not installed either. I just get forwarded to the main admin page. Any suggestions?

I have followed the steps:
-added the 3 lines to .htaccess
-increased max_execution_time in php.ini in both PHP and Apache folders.

Ps. I also tried to install the 3.0beta4, but I get the same thing.

1. check your apache error log for more info

2. can u describe in more detail how you tried to install it? Note that for joomla the recommendation is to "install from directory"
