I'm quite interested. I currently live in Marikina Philippines and have volunteered a great deal with an NGO called He Cares Foundation in Project 8. They have five different programs serving street children, the parents of those children, creating livelihood programs, etc.

After spending at least a hundred hours reviewing various database solutions I believe that CiviCRM is the one that I would like to choose for them. I have over sixteen years of IT experience, some of which has been working with databases however none of it has had my working with MySQL, PHP, Drupal or similar Open Source front ends or backends.

Though I am solely a volunteer I will be getting access to a small budget to begin implementing CiviCRM for He Cares Foundation. I would like to pay someone a reasonable fee for five or ten hours of work per week. This will be ongoing project that I am sure will last a few months as we install and tweak the database to meet the needs of the organization. I will personally be supplementing the work done by the person we are paying as to multiply their efforts.

I am interesting in learning more about CiviCRM and helping this effort that I pray God is leading me to help those with the greatest need in the Philippines.

Nope; doesn't looked like there has been any activity from the one that originally posted this. However it's been five months since I've run into CiviCRM and I've been doing a lot of studying in it. I've even taken on a project with an NGO in Quezon city and hired someone part time to help me when I get stuck.

So; if you have any basic questions (remember I'm still new too) I'll be happy to answer them.

Perhaps if you are serious about putting in as much effort as I have then we two might be the one's that begin this movement of CiviCRM in the Philippines.
