Translate only some components
September 29, 2009, 03:35:32 am
I'm gonna use only some components of CiviCRM so I was thinking if it would be possible to only translete these.
At the moment it looks like I only need CiviEvent and CiviMail and stuff related to contacts of course.

Looking at the translation files I dont see how I could do that. Is it possible?

Hey,

All the module related strings are located en masse in civicrm-modules.po file and they are not divided per module. What you can do is to look at the specific module's user interface looking for English (untranslated) strings, search for them on our translation server or other tool you're using for translation - this way you should get the needed module translated.

In future we will consider splitting specific module related strings into separate files.

Thx,
m

Also, the PO files say which string comes from which module (via the comments). You can try working with that: translate only strings that are in CRM/Event and its subdirectories.
