Standalone search and display code?
September 29, 2009, 05:24:07 pm
I'm trying to set up some custom search and display pages.

Using the link http://mysite.com/civicrm/profile?reset=1&gid=1 gives a search page, without the explanatory text I have added to the profile settings. So I would rather embed a standalone page so I can put instructions around it as you can with a Create profile.

I would also love to be able to embed a directory listing as standalone code, using links such as http://mysite.com/civicrm/profile&reset=1&force=1&gid=7&postal_code-Primary=6021 as explained on http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Linking+Profiles.

Are either of these possible, or am I chasing my tail?

Thanks for any help

I'm happy to add more info or screenshots if my description wasn't clear...  :-\

we have not played around with "independent" search forms, but u can try using this patch to expose the help text on search forms:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Add+Help+text+to+Search+profile

You can also try using the views2 integration to embed directory listings in blocks / standalone etc. Is probably a more flexible solution
