Multi Level Event / Parent Events
October 01, 2009, 10:03:55 am
I don't know if this is at all possible but I'm hoping someone here has some suggestion of how I can achieve what I need.

What I want is a top level "event" that users of the website can create a sub event on the same day in their location.

I'm going to use the Windows 7 launch party as an example...it's almost exactly what I'm looking for.
Windows 7 Launch Party is the top level event expect instead of a date range, we only want this to happen on one day.
Any user can register (except we don't need to have them approved) a sub event and invite people, and have others join.

The way CiviEvent works now is great expect that when a user creates an event I don't want them to be able to choose a date.  I would like them to have a drop down list of parents that set the date for them.

Hopefully I explained this well enough...any help is very much appreciated!

sorry, no support for multi-level event / sub event. You could potentially do the below using a event template (in 3.0) which sets a lot of "fields" in the event for them

if you do want multi-level event / parent event functionality, you will need to either contribute code / hire a developer to build this feature
