Simple? question: membership directory only available to authenticated users
October 01, 2009, 05:27:23 pm
Hi everyone.

I created a user directory using:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Creating+a+website+member+directory

I need to ensure that only those logged in see it. However, I also need to allow anonymous users to have access to profile listings/forms as they need to be able to register for the organization.

Is there a way to do this in Civicrm or do I have to go to Drupal and use Civinode? I'm using Drupal 5.20 and Civicrm 2.07.
Thanks,

Shrill

1. we'd strongly recommend an upgrade to 3.0.x. We stopped support for 2.0.x quite some time ago

2. You might be able to do that via ACL's. Give anon users access to only the profiles they need

3. we are improving profile permissioning in 3.1

Hi Lobo. Would absolutely love to upgrade but can't. We're using several Drupal modules that haven't been upgraded to Drupal 6 yet. If only 2.1 + were available to Drupal 5.

Thanks for directing me to ACL. I was trying it from the authenticated side. I added the anonymous permissions and it worked like a charm.

Cheers,

Shrill
