Strange activity behavior

My CiviCRM "home" screen seems to be doing some strange things with activities.

When I search for "Scheduled" activities through the Custom Activity Search, it says there are 83 of them. However, when I go to CiviCRM home, it says there are 192. When viewing 50 per page, page one and 2 come up fine (about 83 activities), but page 3 and 4 says "There are no Activities to display."

Any idea what might be causing this?  (not a huge deal really, just strange)

there were a few issues with the activity stuff in 3.0. 3.0.1 has quite a few fixes for this, so hopefully it will address this discrepancy
