[SOLVED] Sending to Included group and using an Excluded group, mailing

Trying to send a Live Mass Mail.

I have a Group with over 1000 contact records we'll call this group1.
I have 2 other groups:
group2 - 44 contacts that have already registered for an event, this mailing is announcing
group3 - 5 contacts that the first mailing did actually send to.

In trying to troubleshoot this and re-used the first mailing - Conference Announcement - which made it to 5 contacts.

In the original mailing, group2 was used to exclude those contacts that have already registered - again about 44 contacts.

Sending the mail a second time using group1 as the target and group3 to exclude (because they already received the mailing) contacts, the result after Submitting and sending the mailing, when you go to "Report", the net result is:

Spooled Mails   0
Tracked Opens   0
Click-throughs   0
Forwards   0
Replies   0
Bounces   0 (0.00%)
Unsubscribe Requests   0 (0.00%)

Status   Complete
Start Date   October 8th, 2009 11:11 AM
End Date   October 8th, 2009 11:11 AM

So I did another test. I created a new smart group group4 and added all 1096 contact records to the new smart group4 and made sure I selected use as mailing list when creating the group and repeated the steps.

Same result.

I think I found the issue, these contacts were imported and the e-mail address that was imported is either in the wrong (it's listed under additional location) field or is it is because the address wasn't set to "Use for Bulk EMail".

Is there a way I can auto update use for Bulk EMail?

I found the Bulk Update option but didn't seem to work, so I exported Fist Name Last Name and all e-mail address fields.

Copied the e-mail address from work to primary columns, imported and set the Update Matching records.

Was able to send mass mail to over 700 contacts.

The reporting information is very excellent.

Looking fwd to upgrading to 3.x
