New server
October 11, 2009, 10:31:36 pm
Hi,
I have moved civicrm to a new server and am having trouble getting my civismtp account working.  I can send mail out thru UAS but cannot receive responses.  On the UAS civismtp settings page I get:

Civimail User Check : it appears that the proxy URL that you gave is invalid
# SMTP Authorization Check : SMTP Authorization Succeeded! This proves that the SMTP server is up and that the SMTP Authorization is working with the SMTP username and SMTP password you have entered.
# Email Domain Check : The MX records for data.hbgyfc.org are correctly configured
# SMTP Account settings updated for data.hbgyfc.org

I checked the following-
PHP soap is enabled.
The 20095 port is open.
I set and reset the user names and passwords for SMTP auth and Civimail SOAP user.
The proxy is accessible as http://www.hbgyfc.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/soap.php -- it will load in a browser.

So everythings looks ok and I don't know why I am getting the error.

This is on civicrm 3.0.1, drupal 6.14, dreamhost shared hosting.  The UAS acct is youthforchrist.

Hi Leyla

Can you provide me also with the details, as I have the same problem.

I'm getting this error:

"Civimail User Check : it appears that the proxy URL that you gave is invalid"

Just a heads up Soap is not included in a standard dreamhost install and PS.
We had to rebuild a php.cgi to run with those sites.
Since this was really slow I figured out a way to run just civismtp with this and the rest of the site as regular (faster) php_mod.
I will post some notes soon.
