Hi, used to be able to search for a list of contacts/members as per the details here http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Mailing+Labels and there would be the option in the drop down to create mailing labels. Seems that the option for mailing labels is only available in advanced search.

hmmm. why the trim back on options?

hmm not really. the option is still there for any type of contact search

note that component searches (like member searches) have a different set of tasks. At some point, we will unify them to include all the contact tasks (that are applicable)
