Country data lost during multi-version upgrade
October 14, 2009, 02:08:03 pm
In the process of successively upgrading form 1.8 to 3.0, we lost the Country for every contact. I didn't notice exactly when, so I don't have any more information that that, unfortunately.

I did reload the 1.9 scheme during the 2.0 upgrade, as usual. It seems most likely to have occurred then, but I'm only guessing.

Has anyone else experienced this?

we've not had any reports on this. I think it is unlikely (or i do hope) that we will reset all country_id's in the address table

That's what I thought. But the client assures me that the database originally contained country data, and I have no reason to doubt this, though I didn't actually see it myself prior to the upgrade.

Fortunately we have the data from a legacy source, so  we can just re-import. But it is a mystery....
