CiviContribute is not translate
October 14, 2009, 02:31:41 pm
hello there,

I have a little issue with a fresh install of CiviCRM on Drupal 6. I activate the french translation, CiviCRM seems to be translate, but many string are not translated in CiviContribute. I look on your translation serveur and the *po file, and the string are there.

Commons String as "Frist Name", "Last Name",  "Name and Address" are not translated for example.
my example can be see there : http://www.vakanala.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=1

Is there some thing to activate the translation in CiviContribute, or is it a bug?

Hey,

These fields come from CiviCRM profile, the one provided with fresh installation. You need to go to civicrm/admin/uf/group&reset=1, choose the profile that you're using and translate (Name and Address most probably) and translate field labels manually to French.

BTW - it would be great if you could describe CiviCRM use for your organisation on CiviCRM Showcase forum board. :-)

Thx,
m

Jérôme,

Great to hear about your will to tell others about your use. :-)

If you decide to use CiviCRM in two languages in the same time, you will have to enable Multiple Languages Support (on civicrm/admin/setting/localization&reset=1) - it will allow you to store profile field names in multiple languages and display them based on language preferences. However, at this stage this is still an experimental functionality, so I would recommend approaching it when actual need emerges on your side. We will definitely welcome some testing and feedback on this feature.

Thx,
m
