Taking CC payments from the backend for a pending event registration
October 15, 2009, 01:16:03 pm
I don't see where I can take a CC payments from the backend for a pending event registration.  I do see this functionality for pledges.  Am I missing it?  Thanks

what is your payment processor? You will need a payment processor like PayPal WebPayments Pro / Authorize.net to see the credit card feature for event registration

Lobo,

Thanks for the reply.  We are using authorize.net.  I can successfully register for an event using authorize.net from the front end (by front end I mean -- going to a link and registering for the event).  I don't see where I can pay a pending registration with a credit card (when I'm logged in as a staff or back end user).  I do see where I can pay for a pledge with a credit card when logged in as a staff or back end user.

It seems that a backend user has the ability to take a pledge payment by credit card, but not pay for a pending registration.

Thanks for your help

You should see a "Submit Credit Card Registration" button if you navigate to the Events tab for a contact (example here: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&force=1&cid=102&selectedChild=participant).

However, if the person already has a Pending registration, you'll need to delete that and then create the new one using that button. There's currently no way to submit the credit card payment to your processor for an existing pending or incomplete registration. (This seems like a nice feature to have - so if this comes up for you frequently, consider contributing or sponsoring this functionality.)

Thanks David.  That clears it up for me.   At present it not a big deal, just a nice to have.
