CiviEvent - when an event is deemed full
October 17, 2009, 04:32:17 am
Here is the current status of my event sign-up:

Counted: 36 Not counted: 11 Registered: 34   Pending from pay later: 11  Pending from incomplete transaction: 2   (max 45)

I think I am full because I've got 34 registered and paid and 11 registered but pay later.  34+11=45

But the system is still accepting registrations.

Why is "counted" 36?  And why are registrations accepted?

Is 'pending form pay later' marked as 'Counted' at civicrm/admin/participant_status&reset=1 ?

using this URL:
http://www.mySiteName.com/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event&reset=1&

I see:

Counted: 24 Not counted: 14
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Registered: 22
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pending from pay later: 14 Pending from incomplete transaction: 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(max 46)

I didnt use the exact URL you suggested as I'm using Joomla

So I edited "Pay Later" to be "Counted" and now the totals look like I would expect.  Presume the "full" processing will work as anticipated now?

I didn't change anything when I installed CiviCRM.  Are the default values perhaps not appropriate?

Looks like you're set now. If this is a fresh install, and not an upgrade, then I would agree with you about this default being inappropriate.

Regarding default for "Pending from pay later" - a bit hard for us to make a call on that as some folks would NOT like to hold spaces for folks who "promised" to send payment but haven't yet. However, for folks who are using the cron script to "expire" pending registrations after N days, it probably does make sense to include pay later folks in the "counted" bucket.

I guess that highlights the difference between 'Pay Later by Mailing a check' versus 'RSVP but Pay at the Door.' Do we need yet another status?
