Member summary report by field
October 18, 2009, 09:54:26 am
Is it possible for me to run a report (or a search) that gives me a summary of how many members I have in each membership type, and in each
a) state/province?
b) field in a multi-select field type?
c) group?

I've attached a picture of what we used to put together each month from our old system that just used spreadsheets. Membership types are along the top. The other info I need (either a, b, or c from above) is the vertical menu along the left.

Note that I do not want to find a list of all members with a certain membership type and other parameter, but rather a summary of all members, like in the picture. It's kind of like the current summary on the membership dashboard page, but with different parameters.

Thanks very much for the help,
Phil

Your best bet would be to write a CiviReport that does what you need. You can take the current Membership report as the starting point

Check:

for instructions on writing your own civireport
