3.0.1 - Dates in Custom Data Fields Bug?

I have upgraded from 2.2 to 3.0 to 3.0.1.

When browsing a custom data tab for individual data, dates display correctly as DD-MM-YYY (eg 12-03-09)

If I then click the tab's edit button, the date fields display as selection drop downs with the day and the year correctly populated but with '-month-' displayed for all month fields. Edits to other fields cannot be saved unless the dates are corrected. Clicking on the drop down allows the correct months to be selected and saved.

However, these values don't 'stick' and when I edit again the same problem occurs. I have checked the date validations in the custom data definitions and these are OK.

No problems with standard dates like Date of Birth.

Problem is the same in Firefox and Safari.

Yes.

It seems to happen if I set the 'Complete Date' formats in Global Settings to '%d-%m-%Y' and '%d %m %Y' rather than the default.

Hello Yashoda,
It is replicated on the demo site.
Look for contact King Kong and custom field "Date to test".
When the contact is edited, the date 02-05-2009  is displayed as 02- month - 2009
Do I need to file this as a bug?

Changing date input format
from %d %m %Y 
to %d-%m-%Y  solves this.

This change appears to make no difference in in my installation, performing identically to my original post.

You are right, I only checked a standard CiviCRM date field.
Custom dates still show the bug.
I think this is a critical issue. When editing a contact the Month value will be lost.

Hello Bryan,
I have discussed this on IRC and Kurund provided a patch which proved to solved the problem. It will be included in 3.0.3. If you need the solution earlier you can grab the patch - i supose - by svn,  or drop me a message and i will send you the patched file.
