Groups do not show when I add a contact

I use CiviCRM 3.01 on Drupal 6.14. When I add a new Contact, I only see the Tags when I expand the Tags/Groups bar, I can not select a Group. Once I created the Contact and edit, I do see the Groups. I thought I'd check if this is a known issue before I start digging...

Hi Lobo,
this is not a problem on drupa.demo.civicrm.org. I will check with another theme first on my site, I suspect that might be a cause. More to follow....

OK, this is what I found out on my own site:
I had not entered a group type for any of my groups. As soon as I enter a group type the group re-appears in the list when I add a new household. I then only see those groups where I set a group type.
This does not seem to make any difference on the demo site though.....Strange!?

there was an issue for this for that patch :)
