Download Errors problem
October 21, 2009, 07:03:14 pm
Hi. I am trying to import a csv file of contacts.
When I do, most fail.
I click on the download errors link and get a csv file.
The link to that download errors page is like this:
http://my_site.org/civicrm/export?type=1

Each time I download this file it is the same.
As an experiment, I imported a list with only 40 lines and the error csv file was still reporting errors from line 245

It is as if it is cached somewhere and not refreshing.

Is this a known problem? Is there someway to troubleshoot why I am having difficulty importing the csv file?

Thanks for any help....

I had the same problem, and thanks to help from David Greenberg in IRC, I was able to figure it out.

CiviCRM 3.0.2 saves import errors to the civicrm/upload/sqlImport.errors file (check the value for Temporary Files in CiviCRM › Administer CiviCRM › Global Settings > Directories for your full path). If sqlImport.errors isn't writable by the web user for your host (in my case the web user is www-data), CiviCRM will not be able to update this file with the errors from your most recent import.

I've filed a bug report for this issue: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-5509

Hope that helps!
