Some entries in Pootle seem to be missing
October 22, 2009, 07:21:13 am
Hi,

I have translated some texts in Pootle and it works fine, at least for those texts that I can find.

I have created a membership signup form with a Contribution Page and Profiles. On the first page, everything is fine, but when I go to next page to verify the information, there is a section called 'Your Email' that I want to translate. Where do I translate this?

There are a few other text that I have problems with translating:

- The 'Tell a Friend' button
- The title, 'Your Message', of the text to send to your friend(s) in the 'Tell a friend' form.
- The button, 'Send Your Message', in the 'Tell a friend' form.

Furthermore , in the 'My account' Drupal menu item, the links with 'Edit' below each profile section, cannot be translated.

Thanks in advance,

Mikael

Hey,

Some of the texts you mention are stored in the database - most probably, "Tell a Friend" button displays the text that's configured as a title set in Contribution Page Tell a Friend section. Links in "My account" need to be translated through Drupal functionality.

As for "Your Message" and "Send Your Message" texts - those should be properly available for translation - they are present in the po bundles. Can you double check if you translated them there? If so, clean up the template cache, maybe that's the reason.

Thx,
n

Thanks for the information.

How do I clean up the template cache? I could not find anywhere where to put '?directoryCleanup=1' Is it correct with below?

http://localhost/civicrm/admin/setting?directoryCleanup=1

Anyhow, if above was the correct way of doing it, it did not work. I downloaded the latest files for Pootle and again replaced civicrm.mo, but "Your Message" and "Send Your Message" remain the same. As I said in my first post, the other translations I have made work however fine.

Thanks,

Mikael

That's one way - another is just to manually remove all the contents of civicrm/templates_c directory in Drupal files/ dir.

Are you sure you're properly compiling .po to .mo? Please search on forums for solution, it's pretty common problem.
