Advance registration discount problem
October 29, 2009, 02:13:10 pm
This is with Civi 2.14.

I have created a paid event and setup a discount set.  The event info page shows the discounted, advance purchase price.  But when you go to buy tickets, it shows the undiscounted price.  When I go into the event configuration, the first time the discount set showed the discount fees but now they are blank.  When I re-enter the discount fees and click Save, I go back to the main configure event page and the discount fees are not saved.  What's going on?

If it makes a difference, the payment processor is standard Paypal.  Thanks!

u might want to upgrade to 3.0.2

event discount was fairly new in 2.1.x and we've fixed quite a few issues with it in later releases

OK, I'm up for that.  Besides the usual backing up of all files/data/database, should upgrade be smooth?  Can I upgrade directly to 3.02 or should I upgrade first to an intermediary version?

You need to upgrade to latest 2.x release first and then from there to 3.0.2. I would check integrity of your 2.1 DB before beginning the upgrade using these instructions:

I'm looking at the directions for the schema integrity on upgrades and I'd like to confirm the difference between a DATA dump and a STRUCTURE only dump:

Quote
1. Take a DATA dump of 2.2.x database. Lets call it 2_2_dataOnly.sql.
2. Take a STRUCTURE only dump for all your custom data tables ( custom_value_* tables) of your 2.2.x database. Lets call it 2_2_customTableStructure.sql.

Is the DATA dump the standard export in phpMyAdmin?  Or is it making a data only copy from the Operations page of phpMyAdmin?  The Operations tab also seems to be the only place I can select 'Structure only.'  (I've not used that tab before)

thanks!

I would use the Export tab - "Data" checkbox only for DATA, "Structure" checkbox only for STRUCTURE
