Joomla and Civi event overide templates
October 30, 2009, 08:31:02 am
Template overides in Joomla reside in the html folder of the current active template eg

htdocs/template/myname/html/com_content
                                           com_civirm

But the civicrm style of overides as documented here dont spell out joomla overides.

So in Civi admin you can set a path for custom templates which i have done.
I then copy the civic templates from the admin install.
i then check the paths
Then testdrive and look for my changes

The result is I dont seem to be overriding core Civi templates.

My goals is to move the pesky event reg email filed (email-5) into the event profile, among other tweaks.

Appreciate any pointers.:)

1. civicrm template overrides are different from joomla template overrides. i.e. civicrm does not follow joomla's templating system

2. once u add a new path, delete the compiled templates_c directory (in media/civicrm/) and try again. smarty caches the templates and might not pick the new ones up
