Exporting contributions with addresses
August 30, 2007, 03:19:22 pm
I am planning to use CiviCRM to provide donations and event registrations for a nonprofit organization.  I have CiviCRM-1.8 installed on Drupal-5.2 with PHP5.

I need to export donations for use in another constituent management system and for Quickbooks.  (I tried to convince them to go to one system, but no luck yet.)

Using demo.civicrm.org/drupal, I tried to make an anonymous donation.  It apparently uses test mode even for anonymous donations.  It created a contact record.  I could find the donation using Civicontribute > Find contributions.  I exported the record to Excel.  I see the name of the contributor, but not the address.  I can see the address fields in the contact record listed under Billing, so it is in the database.

I tried to export the contact, thinking I would have to do this in 2 parts, but I don't see the address fields for "Billing" in the Select Fields To Export screen.  (I also don't see any other addresses than primary even though the screen help indicates I should , such as work.)

How can I export the contribution record along with the contributor's "billing address?"

I don't see any contributions showing for this contact even though I go to the contact record through Find Contributions.  Is this because it is a test contribution?

You would have to do it as two different exports, one a Contribution Export and the other a Contact Export. In the Contact Export Screen, when you choose:
Individual and then the Street Address, it will prompt you for a location type (in this case u would choose billing)

The above export would make a good BIRT report. Check http://civicrm.org/node/231 for more details. Would be an excellent contribution

Test contributions only show up in the contribution search screen when the "test" checkbox is enabled
