Is it possible to add links in e-mails sent by the event registration confirmation?

In the registration email text box in CIVICRM Event's Online Registration configuration page, I've entered the following text:

"Thank you for registering for the TPGEN Conference. If you would like to present at the conference, please <a href="http://www.tpgen.com/abstract">submit your abstract here</a>.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference,"

However when the e-mail arrives, the link has not been turned in to a link but is displayed in the e-mail like this:
"If you would like to present at the conference, please <a href="http://www.tpgen.com/abstract">submit your abstract here</a>."

I am not sure how to make it recognise this as HTML and not plain text.

Until then you should probably revise the add-on text for the event to something text email friendly, like:

If you would like to present at the conference, please click the link below to submit your abstract:
>>  http://www.tpgen.com/abstract
