Problem registering different users from the same PC
November 02, 2009, 06:38:05 am
Hi,

I'm working on a site running civicrm 2.0.5 with Drupal.

I've set up a registration form to take single attendee registrations. I know a later version allows multiple attendees in the same registration form, however upgrading is not a short term option right now.

After someone registers for the event, they cannot access the registration page to enter another attendee. This is before they enter an email address. It appears be be cached or does it use cookies.

I'd be very grateful if anyone can point me around this obstacle?

thanks

its cached in the session for that browser

U'll need to delete the cookies / session to register another user from that browser

Thanks,

I can do that but I need to be able to let others do the same and I don't fancy explaining this to other users.

Is there any way of preventing Civi from setting cookies?

u'll need to modify the code directly to do that. we currently dont support 2.0.x

okay thanks,

The site is long overdue and upgrade but short term I'll have to come up with a workaround

Since it is session cached, perhaps a work-around would be to close the browser and re-open it.  This can be explained to users without much drama, and is simple for the user to do.

Thanks, tried that and it works for some but not for everyone. Some have to clear cache manually.

There will only be about 100 attendees in total and a few where more than one attend.

I've simply set up custom data fields to collect the extra infor against an individuals record. Not ideal but it saves having to explain it each time.
