Hello All,

I have run into problem while uploading my .csv file because the fields are matching with the existing civicrm fields. So, I decided that I will make up my own fields using "Custom Data" option. So, I have not run into problem with that, but, I would like to know how to disable the CONTACT DETAILS section when adding a new individual? I have attached the following image to help myself better explain my problem.

So in the following image (Sorry, the image is kind of blurry because i had to make make it fit under 32 KB, but should be understandable), I would like to disable the following area in color and have my custom data show up in its place.

OR if there is a way to replace these CONTACT DETAILS fields with my custom created fields?

You might also consider using a Profile form instead for New Individual. You can modify the navigation menu to point to your profile instead of the default form.

Depending on what fields are required, you can create a Profile form with those fields (pretty much all contact and individual core and custom fields can be added to a profile). Then go to Administer >> Customize >> Navigation Menu and edit the "New Individual" menu option URL so it points to your profile. So instead of:

civicrm/contact/add&reset=1&ct=Individual

you'd put

civicrm/profile/create&gid=N=reset=1
... where N is the id of your profile

Note that this is not necessarily a complete solution - since your users could still wind up on the default form for editing etc. But might be sufficient for your needs.
