Admin Menu Missing

Joomla 1.5.14 standard install said the 3.0.2-alt installed correctly.  From the Joomla>>Components menu CiviCRM shows and brings me to Home.  But there is no black ribbon like in the demo.

On the other hand, if I enter .../index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin&reset=1 into my browser, then I get Admin with all of the menus, options, etc. in place.  I haven't tried it with other "ribbon" tasks.

Before I did the install, I checked with my host to make sure that the server was well-resourced.  I've been through the forums several times and followed all of the checks for correct paths, etc.

Not sure where to go next?

Just found the problem--it's my Joomla admin template.  I use JoomlaPraise's Admin2.  In that, I can't see the black ribbon.  On a whim, I switched the admin template to khepri.  Black ribbon shows up fine.  Hate to give up Admin2.  Maybe the guys at JoomlaPraise can solve it.
