Civievent is adding Adding duplicated Participant when registration completed
November 03, 2009, 10:36:42 pm
Hi Guys,

I have an event which has got online registration.

Have enabled both following options for online registration:
Register multiple participants?
Allow multiple registrations from the same email address?

What happens now is that when I choose to add 1 extra participant, the system creates TWO record and register the extra participant twice.

Even worst. the email which is going out to the main person who is actually doubles up the details of the participant (following is a sample of the email for registration with 1 additional participant)

I am using Civicrm 2.2.8.

any chance you can upgrade to 3.0.2 and see if the issue is still present there

if not, can you try to reproduce this issue on demo (u wont get the email, but u can see how many participant records are created)

Did test int on demo system
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=11

Seems to be working fine there.  Obviously have not received email so I can't say if that works fine.

I can not upgrade to 3.0 as we have an event coming in a week and I can't risk having any issue upgrading.

I disabled adding multiple participant  for the time being which is not really good!

Anyway, 3.0.x looks really fancy.. looking forward to upgrade after the event.

This issue is happening to us as well in Civi 3.0.3.

When I look at the contact record for the second person being registered, and look at the Events for the record, there are 2 identical registrations entries with the exact sem time and date stamp.

We upgraded to 3.0.3 to resolve other issues.

What I have noticed is that this doesn't happen for all multiple participant registrations, only when the person entering the information let's say enters 4 for the total number of additional participants, but for what ever reason, the person only enters 1 additional person and skips the remaining 3 by clicking on Skip this Participant Button and continues to do so until the final confirmation page.

The 1st user info entered is correct, but the second person receives 2 separate confirmation e-mails and has 2 identical event registrations in the contact's event tab.

Hi Lobo,

I tried on http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/ site which is running 3.1.x. and could not reproduce the issue.

This is a live event and we have already upgraded twice. I do not want to go back to the client at this point and tell them I need to do another upgrade.

Thoughts?

Dallas
