Smarty/regex Error
August 31, 2007, 03:13:13 pm
I've completed an installation of civiccrm (I don't know what version - I downloaded it yesterday - it's the latest) on drupal 5 only to get an error when ever I try to access anything in the drupal backend (admin section) that throws this: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/www/drupal5/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 1895. Line 1895 is a regex and I had seen some issues with regex and php5 so I downgraded to php4 - no luck. So we now have php5 (no safe mode, register globals off), mysql 5, drupal 5 - (civicrm had to be manually installed as the graphic installer said I had the wrong version of drupal). I've altered various permissions on directories to assure r/w access too. I get the same error when I crank max execution time up to 120 or higher. No matter how much time I give it, it bails. Any suggestions how to get this to work are appreciated.

We have not seen this before and hence dont really have an idea of why its taking so long etc.

can u give us some details of what regex issues u had with php5? that might give us a clue

it might be related to open_basedir / safe_mode settings, so you might also want to check on that

Apologies - this was caused by server misconfiguration.
