Arrears of contributions

I'm impressed with my current exploration of CiviCRM but have a question: is it possible to keep a track of arrears of contributions?

As a small trade union, we have our members paying weekly, fortnightly or monthly and they are required to keep their contributions up to date. Whilst CiviContribute seems to keep a good track of what is paid, is there a way to calculate any arrears of payments?

There is no automated way of doing so right now. I suspect the pledge functionality will meet your needs

This module is not on our short term roadmap as yet, so would be great for folks in the community to contribute and build/sponsor this module
