Hello everyone,

One of my recurring CiviCRM requirements is to created household records based on existing contacts. I have in the past used the script by Giant Robot (described here http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,2735.0.html ) but it was created for the 2.0 codebase. Consequently, it no longer worked with 3.0. As it turns out, the changes required to make it work for 3.0.2 where relatively minimal. In the hope that this helps someone else, I submit the modified script here. Feel free to make changes, improve it, etc.

This script has been a great thing for my installation and we make frequent use of it.  The problem now is that this version is not compatible with civicrm version 3.3. 

I think that the new issues are as follows:
1.  The database now contains deleted records marked by civicrm_contact.is_deleted
2.  There is no longer a field mail_to_household_id
3.  Only V2 API calls are available
and maybe other issues as well.

Fixing this is beyond my skills unfortunately.  I emailed the nice people at Giant Robot to ask about an update but I have not heard back yet.  If anyone here can tackle it, that would be wonderful.
