"Manual" QuickBooks integration
November 11, 2009, 02:33:57 pm
I have searched the forums and there are a lot of interesting discussions about possibly creating automatic integration with QuickBooks.  But my question is what are folks doing now?

How easy is it to go from civiCRM to cvs to QB?
Any tips on data export?
Do you need to segment your civiCRM data by contribution type?  By payment instrument?
Any tips on QB import mapping?

I'm having some difficulty figuring this out on my own as I am new to civiCRM and am currently playing around with a rather small sample data set.  I don't want to go live with civiCRM until I have at least a rudimentary understanding of what the accounting burden will be.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks for your swift and helpful reply.  If we weren't already looking at spending a good chunk of money on customizing civiEvents to sell tickets the way we need to, I might consider supporting this project.  Sorry, maybe next budget year.

In the meantime, I am still very interested in the process of porting data from civi to QB "the long way".  Anyone have any insight into the process for a newbie?

wanna describe a bit on what "customizations" you are doing to civievent? would be great if others can potentially reuse the work u'll end up doing

Along the lines of my post from a month ago:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,10150.0.html

There are a few minor changes/additions, but that's the big picture.  I can post the details when I'm back in the office.  Perhaps they belong on another thread?
