Creating Name Tags from event registration
November 13, 2009, 09:40:34 am
It's exciting to see our website finally able to be live and working for our members. We are currently taking registration for the first event we have posted on our website. Thank you to everyone who has worked on CiviCRM! It's truly fantastic!

One question I have with CiviEvent is if there is an easy way to create name tags from the registered participants. The way our organization usually makes them is by copy-pasting the first & last name of the attendees, then on a new line the company name (if applicable) since many of our members have membership via their company.

Is there any easy way to do this with CiviEvent? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to how they prefer to do this? I cannot find any easy "print nametags" option when I'm viewing participants, so I am guessing this is not built into CiviCRM...

Thanks in advance!

We'll likely be using this for an event this coming spring, and my plan is to export a CSV report, then just do a mail merge to create the name badges.
As a side note, we've been running our membership through PastPerfect, and while it claims as a feature the ability to create membership cards, in practice we had to do an awful lot of tweaking to make it work correctly. Honestly, the mail merge option would have been easier!
