Gender values
November 18, 2009, 12:41:06 pm
I would like to import contacts with assigned genders but keep receiving error messages.  I've tried using 1 for Female, 2 for Male, and 3 for Transgender but keep receiving an error message.  What values will the Civi database accept for gender roles?

Thanks,
Nicholas

Lobo, Male/Female/Transgender didn't work yesterday, but they do today.  Perhaps because yesterday I populated that data in excel by copying and pasting to multiple rows.  Today I typed the value into a test .csv record and the Civi database accepted it.  Hmmm.

Just to add: if you have changed your language, please change the import values accordingly. E.g.: in Dutch the gender values would be 'Man', 'Vrouw' and 'Transgender'.
