CiviEvent & Drupal - Some issues ..

There are the situations that seem to have come up in regards to the Drupal account registration functionality that's been added to profiles.

Specifically, the example below related to a profile used for event registration and some drupal integration issues that have arisen

(1) presently, if I fill in the preregistration form with a new preferred Drupal username but also with an email address that is already attached to an existing Drupal account, then no account is created for me.

(2) The reverse of (1) is also true: if I fill in the preregistration form with my existing Drupal username but with an email address that is not already attached to that existing Drupal account, then no account is created for me.

(3) Another scenario is also true: if I fill in the pregistration form with an existing Drupal username and with an email address that is already attached to that existing Drupal account, then no account is created for me.

(4) It's also worth pointing out that I might inadvertently or intentionally provide a username and/or email address already in use by another person's Drupal account.

The problem in these scenarios is that there are no notification messages that inform the user (a) that no new Drupal account has been created under their preferred username or email address (b) that there already exists a Drupal account corresponding to the username and/or email address the user provided and (c) that details of an existing Drupal account can be emailed to the address submitted by the user -- a safeguard in case someone is submitting someone else's username or email address.

Notification messages will reduce this confusion -- can they be added somehow?
