Unable to see activities for letters

Hi all,

I have been creating PDF letters using the 'Print PFD Letter for Contacts' option, i create a test template, insert a few tokens and print the letter. When i go back into the contacts record - Activities tab - no record of the letter is displayed.

i have also tested this in the Sandbox and still does not display the letter that has been selected from the template.

Does anyone know as to why this is? or can you suggest possible solutions to my problem!

Exporting a contact, or printing it or generating a pdf or generating a label isn't considered as an activity, hence not added in the activity list.

You probably can easily override the default behaviour, but I don't think there is a hook for that function.

I would consider that the 'print a letter' option should be an Activity in same way that 'email' is. It would be the obvious way to record that this has been 'done'.
