Any charities interested in dynamically generated tax receipts (PDF?)
November 26, 2009, 08:02:28 am
I've got a couple charity clients (Canadian) who'd like functionality developed for CiviCRM/Drupal that produces a downloadable tax receipt for donors after their donations are processed. However, the cost of developing this is a bit beyond their budgets, so I'm just putting the feelers out there to see if any other organizations would be willing to put forward a bit of money to help this get developed.

Anyone interested?

Are there any better places for posting this, by the way?

This doesn't sound too dissimilar to a requirement someone has been discussing with me but not sure yet. Are you basically after something similar to what might go in an e-mail receipt but in pdf format?

Yeah. The PDF isn't the main thing though. Doesn't have to be PDF - could be just a print-friendly web page if that makes it dramatically cheaper.

So, at the moment after you make a credit card contribution you get a thank you page and an e-mail - are you thinking that these don't have the right appearance / data? Or, are you meaning when a cheque (for example) is processed by an administrator?

Well, I think they want this to be available to the donors when they log back in to their Civi account. - A listing of past receipts that can be printed off.

But certainly, the normal receipt template should be modifiable to use a unique serial so that it is acceptable by the CRA.

So, effectively make these contribution entries http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/user?reset=1&id=102 into links to a receipt page?

There is an existing receipt page

http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view/contribution?reset=1&id=18&cid=102&action=view&context=search&selectedChild=contribute

And the contact page could easily link be edited to link it so the missing step would be ensuring permissions to 'view own contribution'?
