I'm new to CiviCRM and looking at the system to see if we could use it in my organisation as base for our customer/members register. We use Drupal 6 as CMS for our website and the possibility to have a CRM with close integration would be perfect.

When I tried to set up a membership registration page I run in to some trouble. We really need the possibility for a customer/member to choose multiple memberships or services. I have search the forum but the only thing about this topic was from 2007 and a specification on http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviContribute+++CiviMember+membership+renewal+payment+process+requirements.

I wonder if there has been some more discussion on this topic or if there is someone who have need for this functionality?

Bottom line is ... there is no built-in support for this functionality and it has come up fairly often. If your organization is interesting in sponsoring this for a future release (3.2+), or developing it and contributing the code - ping me at dave at civicrm dot org.

I suspected that even if I hoped for a different answer. We will think about develop it and contributing or sponsor a future release when we have got a bit deeper in the application to see if it fits our purpose in other areas. I will ping you in that case, Dave.

Thanks for the link to that discussion, Yashoda. I have read it before but didn't find it when I did my last search on the topic. It's explains the problem so you get a good understanding of it, which is real good for our evaluation.
