Using profiles on search results
November 27, 2009, 08:41:42 am
Hi,

I'm trying this experimental option, but it never displays any of the fields (I have all contact fields beside the employer for individuals)

I have to put the field as publicly visible to make it run, even for the private contact search. Is this normal ?

Otherwise, I've tried Lobo suggestion to modify the template so the "is searchable" and search column are always visible, but if I keep the field as admin and user, check the column result and save, it is NOT taken into account.

Any idea ?

Yes. It will be shown for both private and public searches.

I think you need to make field "public" in order to add it to Column result.

Yes, it has to be made public.

But as I didn't see any reason to have to make it public to be on a search result column in the civicrm admin/user interface, I modified the template to take out the js code that hides this option, but it was still unchecked after I saved it.

Is there a good reason or shall I keep digging and try changing the behaviour so you can get a search result on a admin/user field ?
