Version 3 confusion in menu creation

I'm using Joomla 1.5.15 and CiviCRM 3.1 alpha1. The instructions for creating a menu in the documentation

does not match the options I have in my admin. The types of civiCRM menu options appear in my first window as a selection under "internal link" "civiCRM"

What's up? I'm so very confused.

The instructions in the wiki were a bit outdated. I've updated them to match the process for Joomla 1.5.x with CiviCRM 3.x. If you still find that they need clarification once you've gone through the process - please jump in and improve them. The wiki doc is community supported and maintained.
