Cannot get event setup
November 29, 2009, 03:11:47 pm
Hello,

I have been at this for hours and can't figure this out....  I am trying to create an event, however when I go to configure an event it takes me to this plain html form that doesn't work: http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4471/eventlocation.png

This is how I get to that page:
  • Visit CiviCRM >> Administer CiviCRM (http://domain.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin&reset=1)
  • Click Manage Events
  • Click "Configure" on an event I previously created (takes me to http://domain.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/event&action=update&id=2&reset=1)
  • Click "Event Location" (Takes me to http://domain.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/event&reset=1&action=update&id=2&subPage=Location)
  • Click "Event Location" again (Takes me to http://domain.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/event&reset=1&action=update&snippet=4&subPage=Location&id=2)
  • This is what the page looks like: http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4471/eventlocation.png

I greatly appreciate the help!

It looks the the Javascript that manages the tab-based interface for event configuration is not working on your site. Check your Resource URL setting (Administer CiviCRM > Global Settings > Resource URLs) to see it it's set properly. I would also use Firebug (a Firefox plugin) to check for errors.
