Defaults for 2 countries?

I am utterly new and making my way through the documentation, so forgive me if this question is addressed - just point me to the right place.

We have offices in Switzerland & US and each office would like to store addresses with their country as default.
Instead of a database wide default, is it possible for me to make 2 country-specific data entry profiles
that enter the correct country and display the correct country sub-divisions? Or do you recommend another way of handling this?

I have the same concern with currency denomination, and in fact, I didn't notice Swiss Francs in the supported list of currencies.  ???

CiviCRM is designed to be localized on a per-instance basis. So if they are storing contacts in the same database, either the US OR Switzerland would be the default. You can train users the keyboard to tab through the field and type "swi" so that Switzerland shows up on the drop down list and is a bit more efficient for data entry.

If you create a CiviCRM profile for data entry, the stand alone form can be edited to meet the requirement. You can basically hard-code the country into the form by editing the HTML to hide the country field and pre-populate it appropriately. I don't think there is any documentation for that.
