Cant view crm admin page
September 06, 2007, 07:21:03 pm
Hi All,

I am really new to this component and I can't seem to get it to work.
I have installed successfully, when I try to reach the Administer CiviCRM
the page will not load.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

David

You will have to give us more details to be able to help. Please check your error logs and see if apache/php is reporting any errors.

I am also having problems when I try to launch the administration page. I get the following...

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

That is it. Everything else seems to be working fine. I enabled error display and the page doesn't throw any errors other than the CGI one. Any suggestions?

Check your php error logs or enable error logging in your php cgi. You might want to check the php web site for more detailed documentation on how to do this

I turned on error logging both to the web page and file, just to be sure and the admin page throws no errors. I am considering installing PHP to run isapi rather than CGI. Is this a good or bad idea?

Well, I did some major surgery on my webserver install by uninstalling php4 running in CGI mode and installing PHP5 running in ISAPI mode. After wrestling with misc settings for about an hour, all is better. I don't know what was causing the CGI error and sorry, but I don't intend to find out as I prefer to run in ISAPI mode anyway. My netadmin setup the server in CGI mode and I didn't realize until I saw the errors.

Thanks all for your help.

Mike
