Unknown error in SetError
December 07, 2009, 07:32:12 pm
I have imported data files before without problems. Now I have a large cvs file with over 4,000 contacts and I can not import it. Everytime I try, after about 15% of the import process is over, it gives the following error message:

We encountered an unknown error in setError: Error: Unable to load /civicrm/import/contact status:404

Can anyone help me resolve this?

Can you increase memory limit and execution time settings for PHP. We had some dojo related issues during import in pre 3.0 release. So would recommend upgrading to v3.0.

I have increased memory limit and execution time limits of PHP but still problem persists.
I have shorten the DB to 1000 names. The DB is very clean and simple.
But it always hangs up with the same error message after around 500-700 entries being processed.

I have now reduced the file to 500 names, and with 450 names processed, and 23 seconds left, it again gave the same error message.
What is an error in the setError anyways?

May be should consider upgrading to 3.0.x and hope it fixes your error.

Kurund,
I think you are right about installing 3.0x.
We are a small nonprofit with limited budget. We have a small staff who have experience in databases but not with html or php codes. We had to pay someone to install Drupal and Civicrm on our server. We can not afford to pay someone to help us everytime we need to upgrade (quite honestly, we did not realize the skill level required to upgrade the site).
The upgrade instructions seem straight forward but there are a few things we do not understand.
DO you know of any other materials (written or video) that could help us learn how to upgrade the program ourselves.
Thanks.
Henry

You should follow this instructions: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Installation+and+Upgrades and if you get any issues do post on forum.
